Girls is the first solo album released by Eric Stewart in 1980. It was the soundtrack to the film Girls. The album was mostly co-written by then 10cc keyboardist Duncan Mackay and features contributions from all of the other 10cc members. Girls" and "Warm, Warm, Warm" were released as singles. Neither the album nor the singles managed to chart in the UK. All tracks written by Eric Stewart and Duncan Mackay except where noted. Girls Opening Music" - 3:28. Girls" (Stewart) - 3:18.
It was, then, a strange time for either of the band's full-time members, Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman, to be contemplating releasing a solo album - but Stewart was not letting that hold him back. In truth, little about Frooty Rooties will seem unfamiliar to anyone versed in the later 10cc albums. Always the most traditionally rock-oriented of the group, Stewart offers nine tracks which ooze gentle melodicism, tasteful guitar playing, and exquisite production, not one of which breaks either a sweat or the mold.

The young Eric Stewart got his start in the Pop world by joining Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders way back in 1963. After a run of hit singles in the Beat era, Stewart split from the band and sunk some of his money in a recording studio called Inner City. He and his business partner Peter Tattersall moved in and re-christened the facility Strawberry Studios. Better was to come in the form of album number two Frooty Rooties (I’ve no idea what that means). The agreeably nuts faux-Disco of Guitaaaaaaaaaaarghs is bracing and Night And Day’s 50s pastiche is a winning glance right back to Donna ten years previous.
