Vol. 6 has a lot of fresh names on it, and many of the most memorable tracks on here come from artists yet to release their own propers on the label. Perpetually On One hits you right in the feels particularly early on, and will no doubt leave you praying to the bass gods for more Toadface material while tracks like Telemeter’s Pressure and Vorso’s tentacled spectacle named Cephalopod further highlight the awesome new directions Saturate Records have been taking their sound as of late

Instead of presenting their picks separately, Steffi and Martyn have curated this one together, and largely move away from the tranquil textures of the first five compilations-Shed's plaintive "When The Faces Went Down" is the only ambient-leaning track here. Elsewhere, Air Texture Vol VI explores the more melodic reaches of electro. With its minimal, halftime kicks and soaring chords, DJ Stingray's "Last Shift" is a stark contrast to the steely electro the producer has released in recent years. FaltyDL's "Going West" pairs serene pads with Detroit-schooled synths and quaint spoken-word samples, making for one of his strongest moments on record in years.
