The Cathedral of St. John, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Cathedral Church Choir of St. John, Albuquerque, NM, Maxine Thévenot. Bass (Vocal), Booklet Design, Organ, Vocals.

2210 at the Cathedral of St. John's is an exceptional instrument. At 102 stops, 65 ranks, and 3,800 pipes, it is the largest pipe organ in New Mexico. More importantly, however, it is an extremely varied and exquisitely balanced instrument, perfectly suited to the warm acoustics of John Gaw Meems great sanctuary. Capable of the softest purr with its celestes and vox humana, or the mightiest roar from its battery of trumpets, the new organ continually thrills and inspires.

The Three Choirs Festival is a music festival held annually at the end of July, rotating among the cathedrals of the Three Counties (Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester) and originally featuring their three choirs, which remain central to the week-long programme. The large-scale choral repertoire is now performed by the Festival Chorus, but the festival also features other major ensembles and international soloists. The 2011 festival took place in Worcester from 6 to 13 August. In the 1870s, the festival was reduced to the three cathedral choirs, ending for a while the era of the visiting celebrity singer as a faction in the church sought to stress the "appropriate" nature of activities allowed in cathedrals. However, the civil authorities took issue with the ecclesiastical and the festival revived. His De Profundis was one of the earliest works to be commissioned especially for the festival and performed in 1891.

Appointed Canon Precentor in 2014, Dr. Thévenot currently serves as Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at the Cathedral of St. John, Albuquerque where she oversees a program consisting of 4 choirs and an extensive community outreach ministry-Friends of Cathedral Music, now in its 21st season. A member of the duo, Air & Hammers, she concertizes with her husband, acclaimed English baritone Edmund Connolly, specializing in programs which combine song repertoire from the 19th and 20th centuries with new works by living composers. In 2014 Dr. Thevenot was chorus master for the New Mexico Philharmonic Beethoven Symphony 9 performance at Popejoy Hall.
