Stuart Gordon (born August 11, 1947) is an American filmmaker, theatre director, screenwriter, and playwright. Initially recognized for his provocative and frequently controversial work in experimental theatre, Gordon is perhaps more widely known for work in film. Most of Gordon's cinematic work is in the horror genre, though he has also ventured into science fiction and film noir
James believed in the Divine Right of Kings – that he was answerable to God alone and could not be tried by any court. He forbade any interpretation of church doctrine different to his own and made Sunday Church-going compulsory. James I also introduced English and Irish Protestants into Northern Ireland through the Ulster Plantation scheme and tried to keep England at peace with the rest of Europe. Although he was a clever man, his choice of favourites alienated Parliament and he was not able to solve the country’s financial or political problems. When he died in 1625 the country was badly in debt. Charles I (1625 – 1649).
And when MacRae's and Norman's voices are paired on the finale, one just wants to float away. The music from The Student Prince is just as fine a showcase for MacRae, even if not all of it is as fine music; the transfers are just as good, and from sources equally fine. This is the kind of collection that could make a convert of listeners who normally don't have much patience for stage musicals
